Plain City

Living in Plain City
In 1814, Isaac Bigelow travelled to the area from Centre County, Pennsylvania to pay for land purchased from his uncle, then returned to Pennsylvania to study medicine with his father. He returned in 1817, and settled the area in 1818. The center of Plain City is located at the juncture of U.S. Route 42 and State Route 161, and expands over Madison and Union Counties. It is served by 2 school districts; Jonathan Alder and Dublin City Schools.

Development continues to this day with the community of Jerome Village quickly becoming its largest residential development. Site of the 2013 and 2018 Parade of Homes, Jerome Village has been growing for quite some time and will continue to grow as demand for new homes in the area increases.
